Introducing Insane Ability Nonprofit

To begin our first blog post I wanted to give you a full introduction to Insane Ability, what we do, and what we are about.
Before I get started I wanted to tell you a little about myself. My name is Julianne, and I am the writer for Insane Ability’s blog. I became very interested in the organization because of its personal cause and mission. I have a passion for helping others, especially when it comes to the area of mental wellbeing. In my own life, I have experienced depression, anxiety, and eating disorders. I also have family members who deal with anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. From personal experience, my heart has been opened up to the importance of taking care of mental health needs and breaking the stigma that surrounds them. Today I live a pretty standard life; some days are harder than others, but I have worked to overcome my hardest struggles from the past. I am passionate about using healthy food, exercise, therapy, creative outlets, and holistic options to also improve mental health.
Insane Ability was founded and created by Serena Millet in May 2019. Serena Millet has anxiety and depression, and her husband struggles with severe OCD. From experience, Serena realized how much financial strain can result from the expensive costs of therapy. She decided to create Insane Ability as a solution for those with little money who need outside help.
The organization received its 501c3 in February 2020, which allowed Insane Ability to offer tax deductions for charitable donations.
Our mission is to end the stigma of mental illness. We know that so many people who need help cannot afford the help they need to work through mental illness and substance abuse. We’re here to change that.
At Insane Ability, we offer mental health coaching, substance abuse coaching, grief support coaching, and teen group coaching. Sessions can be scheduled as couples coaching, one on one coaching, or peer support group sessions. Our certified peer support specialists are people who have experienced mental illness, or substance abuse, and found a way to overcome their struggles. They have an insight into mental health struggles from personal experience, and they are here to offer empathy and guidance. Each coach chose to become certified to help others that are also experiencing these common struggles.
If you are looking for help to overcome mental health struggles, or even some other people to relate to, please reach out by visiting our website www.insaneability.org. We are here guiding you to the life you want to live.
